The Vaka Taumako Project of
the Pacific Traditions Society


 

     Announcment: 3 April, 2009    

On the morning of Monday, 20 April, Mimi will be a featured speaker at the 55th International Safety Seminar for the International Association of Safety and Survival Training (IASST). She will speak on "Early Polynesian Navigation using the Wind Compass and Underwater Lightning". Later that day, Nainoa Thompson of the Polynesian Voyaging Society will be speaking about that organization's safety protocols.

The meeting is open to the public for a fee of $60.00. Reservation deadline is 10 April.
